Unknown Java build problem in Axon.ivy Designer: Failed to init ct.sym

With Axon.ivy Designer 9.1 based on eclipse 2020-06 I can not compile my ivy and java projects and get the following Unknown Java Problem in the Problems View:

The project was not built due to "Failed to init ct.sym for ...\jre\lib\jrt-fs.jar". Fix the problem, then try refreshing this project and building it since it may be inconsistent

What can I do to fix this?

How to complete a task from REST service in Axon.Ivy ?

So, far I saw that I can do .destroy() but it doesn`t feel the right, I believe that there will be some side effects

.setActivator(ivy.session.getSecurityContext().getSystemUser()) but this way I`m loosing the history who was the assignee of the task

Any other options ?

Maybe to do HTTP call to the end-point /TaskA.iot?taskId=7

My goal is to build REST API that can manage the Axon.Ivy tasks from external system.

Is there a way to get the list of parameters which are defined in the Signature of a process start element ? *I need this information before starting the process instance.

I checked the public API but such information is not available. So, I assume there is an Internal API that I can use ? Can you provide some code snipet?

How to use Gradle with Ivy project

Dear Ivy team

Currently, our Ivy projects are using Maven as the build system, but with Maven, the build process (include testing) is very slow. And I know that by using Gradle, it will help us with this problem by boosting the build process much faster than Maven.

So I just wanna try to apply Gradle to our Ivy projects to see how much it improves our build process. Unfortunately, I got a problem with Axon.ivy Project Build Plugin. As far as I know that we need to use "Project Build Plugin" to resolve Ivy's dependencies but that plugin doesn't support Gradle. So is there any possibility to apply Gradle with Ivy project?

Java 8 Update 201 Authentication window on Startup

We face the following Problem with the new Java Version 8 Update 201: https://imgur.com/a/DTe02wn Other Java Application like Abacus don't have the Problem

The problem only exists if the client updates the JAVA Client to 8_201. It also exists on other installations from our partener who have the update installed. The error means the following in English: Enter credentials to access <default> on "server name / IP":

If I type in my username and password it works. But the Window will come up at the next start. Does anyone know a solution for this?

I tried many things out in the Java Settings but non helped, as it worked with the old Java Client.

Java 8 is out of support: What can I do to still use my RIA clients in the Axon.ivy Engine?

Oracle has decided that they will no longer will publish Update/Bug Fixes/Security Fixes for JDK 8 for free after January 2019. If you want such Update Release after January 2019 you have to buy support from Oracle.

Moreover, Oracle will only publish free update releases for JDK 11 for at least 6 months. After the 6 months you can have update releases only if you buy support from Oracle.

What does this mean for my Axon.ivy Engine? Do I need to pay for Oracle support now or are there other possible solutions that AXON Ivy suggests?

Ich habe Problem mit Ivy RIA Application. Ivy Designer Version 5.1.13, Java JRE im Rechner ist 1.7.0_45 b18. Wenn ich im Designer RIA Applikation starten will, kommt ein Fehler (nach jnlp Hewrunterladung und Verifizierung): com.sun.deploy.net.JARSigningException: Unsignierter Eintrag gefunden in Ressource: batik-awt-util-5.1.5.161938.jar

Wenn ich das gleiche mit Designer 5.1.4 probiere, Applikation startet problemlos. Koennen Sie hlefen?

Use a Maven-Java-Project as library

Can I create a maven-java project and import this project as a library project into an axon.ivy project? I am facing problems doing this. Until now I have packaged the maven-java project as a .jar file and added the jar to the axon.ivy project's build path. This works fine but we need a more convenient way. We want to reference from the axon.ivy project to the maven-java project. I have added to the axon.ivy project's pom.xml a dependency pointing to the maven-java project. But when using classes from the maven-java project in the axon.ivy project I face problems. The script tasks cannot resolve the dependencies.

Moreover, I am wondering if it is possible to deploy war files to the axon.ivy engine?

I would apreciate hints or recommendations?

SOAP Webservice in Ivy using Java

I tried to publish a web service similar to the one described in the tutorial below. I did not use the out-of-the-box Ivy WS process as each of the WS have many methods (and decided to build them in Java instead).

Example

Using Endpoint.publish() I specified the location for the WS. However, this requires me to run the class containing this method in the java console, and then run Ivy. I tried tying Endpoint.publish() to a "Start Process" in Ivy but it did not work.

Attach Java source in Axon.ivy Designer 6.3

Hi everyone, I have an issue with attaching Java source in Axon.ivy Designer 6.3.
When I Ctrl + Click or F3 on a class name, Designer will open a Class File Editor with Attach Source... button. And it seems working when I use that function to attach source of external libraries (e.g. org.apache.commons.collections4.CollectionUtils) but the problem is when I restart or exit and start Designer, the source is not there and I have to attach it again.
Could you please help me on this? Thank you.

How to load resources in IvyProject from Java?

In typical Java EE maven project I put resources in src/main/resources and access files with getResourceAsStream().

How to work relative to the current class has been dicussed in this thread. However, I would need an absolute way to access resources.

Background of this question is that I would like to use owner config with fallback to a classpath property file.

Hi all,

I'm trying to find the way to do the following. We need to start a process when a email comes with an attachment. I can solve this by a daemon in OS at host. But then, when the file moves to a folder, I need to:

Start the process
Add the PDF to the process to be available to process users.

I'm writing a Java class in order to search if there is a file to the folder and raise the start of the process. I need to know how can put it in a daemon that executes that every x minutes. Then, I have to attach the PDF to the process, but I'm not finding a way to do it.

Any idea?

Hello Ivy Team,

I would like to sign PDF files using apache pdfbox. Apache pdfbox requires the bcprov-jdk15on for encryption and signing. When I try to run the signing example (https://svn.apache.org/viewvc/pdfbox/trunk/examples/src/main/java/org/apache/pdfbox/examples/signature/) i get a Exception in thread "main" java.lang.SecurityException: class "org.bouncycastle.asn1.ASN1Primitive"'s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package at java.lang.ClassLoader.checkCerts(Unknown Source)

I think this exception occurs because the designer has a bcprov-jdk15-1.45.jar already included, but this is not the jar pdfbox expects. (bcprov-jdk15 and bcprov-jdk15on)

When I try to delete this jar it is automatically recreated on startup.

Could you please help me to solve this problem.

I am using the ivy Designer 5.1.8

Ivy log files are empty when accessed through an upstream server

Hello everybody

We got Ivy running on a windows server. A few weeks ago, we added an upstream Linux Apache Server which connects via AJP. When the Ivy application is accessed through this Linux server, the log files don’t get written anymore. The log files are generated every day but they are just empty. Also generated files with Java (e.g. Excel-Files) are damaged and can’t be read correctly. If we access the application locally through http, the log file gets written and the files can be generated and read.

Could someone please help us figure out why these logs are turning out empty and how to fix it? Thanks in advance

Can I add a Java Project reference instead of a library

Is it possible to add a Java Project as project reference to the Java Build Path? Adding a project as a library works fine. Adding a Project as Project reference results in a ClassNotFoundException.

I also tried to add it to the packaging structure but still have the ClassNotFoundException.

Is it possible to use the connection pool from ivy in a Java class?

I currently reading the database configuration with : Ivy.wfCase().getApplication().findExternalDatabaseConfiguration("myDB")

and open the configuration with: ch.ivyteam.db.jdbc.DatabaseUtil.openConnection(dbConf) ch.ivyteam.db.jdbc.DatabaseUtil.DatabaseUtil.closeConnection(conn);

With this approach it doesn't use the pooled connections like in an ivy database step.

Real Time Progress bar with a blockUI doesn't work using primefaces with atmosphere

I have a button and when I press on it, the method obtains data from the data base and show the records in a datatable. The action takes more than 1 minute and I want to show a progress bar (the time is variable)
