Create Logger with Category for Runtime Log

Hi,

I would like to create loggers, which behave like Ivy.log() i.e. which log to ivy.log and are also shown in the Designer Runtime Log) but use a custom category (instead of "user_code").

For example:

ivy.log:

Also a "dirty trick" would do, as I will encapsulate the logic at a single place.

Is it possible to create such loggers?

Where to find engine 'logs' using the Mac Designer?

I've "inherited" an Axon.ivy project that I have to maintain, I've installed the Designer and I also see that the project has a pom.xml setup, so I can also build it from the command line.

Now, the Designer I understand runs an embedded engine. Also, the pom.xml has a plugin with a goal that also downloads an engine (project-build-plugin:7.3.0:installEngine).

Where can I find these engines? More specifically, where can I find the logs for them?

PS: I'm running on MacOS

Printers not found when deployed

When searching for printers with PrinterJob.lookupPrintServices(); everthing works fine locally in the Designer. After deploying the application, it only finds "Microsoft XPS Document Writer". I was thinking maybe the printers aren't installed on the server, but they are. When installing the Designer on the Server, everything works fine too.

I couldn't really find any helpful information about this exact problem/behavior. I've tried to change the Ivy Engine Service user from the local user to the one I used to login to the server, but that didnt help either.

If I open an HtmlDialog in my 7.4 Designer. The HtmlDialog Editor opens but it blocks endless and only displays the waiting cursor icon. I do have to kill the Designer process and restart it. What can I do?

Dear All

I am new to AxonIvy and using IvyDesigner 7.3.1 for MacOS. I have read in the migration notes that the project IvyAddOns has been spit into IvyAddOnsCommons, DocFactory and FileManagerApi. Supposedly there should also be an empty facade project and IvyAddOnsRichDialog. Where can I download all these? I can't find them in the Ivy Samples neither in the application directory of the designer app. I could only find DocFactory.

The ivy.core team just started to release a BETA version of MacDesigner. How is you user experience with it? Can you work with it on a daily basis? Please share issues or work-arounds that only occur on the MAC platform so that we can improve our work.

Remove User in Axon.Ivy Designer

For a Testcase i need to remove a user on which we have allready Tasks in designer. When I remove the User in User Editor he ist still existing in ISecurityContext.getUsers(). Only when i close the designer and reopen it the user is removed. But than also all tasks are away.

Is there a way to remove the User without closing Axon.Ivy Designer?

In my axon.Ivy Designer (v.7.0.5) I want to Insert 4 spaces instead of tabs. (Internal Code Styleguide). Luckily there is a Setting in Axon.Ivy for reach this:

But, this Setting does not work for me. When I am in Java Editor on a Class Header and Press Enter, the editor insert a Tab:

Use Axon.ivy Engine libraries in a plain Java process (Not Supported)

Hi everybody,

In my project in designer 7.0.8 I've Axon.ivy Libraries who are available.

Like commons-io-2.5.jar from apache.

I'm using a class from this jar, in designer it works fine.

But when I'm starting my project into the engine I get a classpath exception.

I searched into the Engine documentation and plugins / lib - this jar is not present.

How can I solve this problem? and why are not all the Axon.ivy libraries who are in Designer in the classpath not present in the Engine? What should we do, manually copy all the jars into the engine and add them into the classpath or as a plugins? in version 6 there were available.

It's weird because now we have Axon.ivy Libraries (who are provided in all projects) and optional classpaths to add like Axis or Drools libraries. All the libraries contained into the optional classpaths are present in the Engine plugins directory. But the Axon.ivy Libraries who are automatically available in the Designer without adding extra classpath containers are not all available... It sounds so weird to me...

Hi!

Ich habe Problem mit Ivy RIA Application. Ivy Designer Version 5.1.13, Java JRE im Rechner ist 1.7.0_45 b18. Wenn ich im Designer RIA Applikation starten will, kommt ein Fehler (nach jnlp Hewrunterladung und Verifizierung): com.sun.deploy.net.JARSigningException: Unsignierter Eintrag gefunden in Ressource: batik-awt-util-5.1.5.161938.jar

Wenn ich das gleiche mit Designer 5.1.4 probiere, Applikation startet problemlos. Koennen Sie hlefen?

I think the problem is that API SimpleMailSender.sendMessage() uses port 25 which is cannot be accessed to connect to SMTP server: Couldn't connect to host, port: localhost, 25; timeout -1. I also tested email sending function with UI and could send email successfully:

You see, it's using port 2525. If I change port to 25, I cannot send email. So how can I config the port when sending the email with ivy API? Thank you

I'm an Ivy Developer for years, like other developers, I refer Linux or MacOS rather than Windows. I have many useful command line tools that Windows is missing. I'm happy that you still release an unofficial Linux version of Ivy Designer and it works really well (except WebEditor). It would be great if I can run a MacOS version of Ivy Designer, is there any chance for me?

The Axon.ivy Designer contains many features, that our dev team does not need. On the other hand my favorite third parties of the Eclipse Marketplace are not included. So the installation of a new Designer takes some time and must repeatedly be applied for all our developers. The wiki that describes our preferred installation is growing and growing... :-(

Isn't there a way to get my custom Designer with just what I need and share it with my team?

How to save a list from a Dialog?

Hi all,

I have a form (dialog) that it's dynamic. In a field, the user can insert one or multiple values. For example, user has a textfield and an Add button. When the user pushes the Add button, another texfiled shuold appear in order to complete another value for the same (array/list) field.

What's the best way to save this multiple dynamic values in a Data object from a Dialog form?

Split a process in two lines with Forms in each one

Hi all,

I'm needing a way to parallelize to lines of a process, with different logic in each line that includes user dialogs calls and many other logic steps. Split component is not valid as documentation referes. How can I do that? after each line completes the process steps in each one, they are joined with a join component in orther to continue the process execution.

Attach Java source in Axon.ivy Designer 6.3

Hi everyone, I have an issue with attaching Java source in Axon.ivy Designer 6.3.
When I Ctrl + Click or F3 on a class name, Designer will open a Class File Editor with Attach Source... button. And it seems working when I use that function to attach source of external libraries (e.g. org.apache.commons.collections4.CollectionUtils) but the problem is when I restart or exit and start Designer, the source is not there and I have to attach it again.
Could you please help me on this? Thank you.

How to avoid Error message on designer startup

Hi Ivy team,

each time when starting Axon Ivy Designer an error box welcomes with the following content:

"An internal error occurred during: "Verify Web App Libraries". java.lang.NullPointerException".

The Designer works after closing the error message, so this is not a real problem. What is the reason for the cryptic message? Tested with Axon Ivy designer 6.7.1 Rev 55496 on Windows and Linux.

How to install and use the Linux Designer

We release since version 6.7.0 the Axon.ivy Designer for Linux. Basically, it runs very well.

Simple automated installation

Download and unpack the Designer to a location of your choice. E.g. ~/opt/Designer7
run the install-ivy-dependencies.sh script in the root of the designer.
run Axon.ivy Designer

Manual Dependency Installation

The manual installation process on a Debain based Linux is as follows:

Install libwebkitgtk-1.0.0 that the internal browser works correctly. A simple APT command should be sufficient:
- sudo apt install libwebkitgtk-1.0.0
- if this browser library is not installed: the web browser will fail with an error such as this in the screen
Install a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). sudo apt install openjdk-8-jdk sudo apt install openjfx
For the fast JNI SVN Team connector the libraries must be made accessible
- sudo apt-get install libsvn-java
Download and unpack the Linux Designer. E.g. into ~/Downloads/Designer7
Run the eclipse binary in the unpacked Designer directory. Enjoy!

Only for versions older than 7.0.0

Windows tools.jar included instead of Linux tools.jar (configuration/org.eclipse.osgi/107/0/.cp/lib/tools.jar)
- Could lead to serious problems (e.g. jmockit). Replacing existing Windows tools.jar with a Linux tools.jar solved it.
