Hi There

We are still using IVY Version 5.1.10. This Ivy version has included Primefaces 5.0.xx (as i guess so far). How can we upgrade yout Server/Designer 5.1.x to a newer Primefaces version e.g. 5.3 ot higher. We 'd like to use some new features like Primesfaces FontAwesome etc.

Is it possible to upgrade and which steps are neccessary ?

Thanks for help.

PS: Upgrade to IVY 6.x is not an option so far ...

Why is the customer more willing to pay the modification of a tested standard product instead of migrating to the latest version? Is there any real reason to not convert to 6.0?

Not to upgrade isn't a decision of the customer rather than of me as Developer !! Sorry, but IVY 6.X isn't a step foward at all:

  • Deploymnt Wizard still works not (properly)
  • Performance in designer in xhtml files is poor (validation cycle stocks editing)!
  • Confusion about stable/upgradable Version against Leading Edge stuff (who needs that if it's not really suppported). Well, It seems that the focus of developing ivy is full on that portal stuff than fixing some painful bugs ...

...and IVY will ever have some delay in upgrading his version with latest primefaces stuff ...

Then please help us to get better.

  • deployment wizard: can you tell what exactly does not work in the deployment wizard? is there an existing bug report? Please contribute it to support@ivyteam.ch
  • xhtml files performance: some performance problems came with the new HtmlDialogEditor that has pre-view features. If you don't need this editor - you can still use the old 'WebPage Editor' to get rid of the problems.
  • LeadingEdge Versions: they are widely used as the features are an answer to real hot project problems. Their featureset will be in a final LTS version in q2 of 2017
