We have a customer which is not allowed to have writeable folders in the normal area of the fileset. Writeable folders should only be at the user-area which is of course writeable. Is there a way to configure at least the "work"-folder be at a different place?

One way is to install the designer directly to the user-area (if space is sufficient). Or to set a symbolic link like:
mklink /D C:\Soreco\ivy_Designer51_x64\work C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\work

I think it's a normal system property that can be adjusted with the Admin UI. See the property named "System.WorkDirectory".

This works fine on server but not in designer. There is no such property. Like in eclipse the "work"-folder is hardcoded.
